The Litebook Elite is the new generation of light therapy, the result of years of research and development in hand-held light therapy devices. The Elite features a custom lens and diffusion system which, combined with the high-performance white LEDs that all Litebook products are known for, produces a uniform field of bright yet soothing light. Additional innovative features for the Elite include a multiple-setting timer (15-30-45-60 minutes) and a long-lasting built-in rechargeable lithium-ION battery with a charge indicator – all of this in a compact, sleek design which fits into your lifestyle. When used every day, The Litebook Elite will improve your mood, increase your energy level and restore your sleep patterns. Most people notice results within 30 days - often sooner.
Typical usage time is 15-30 minutes a day. Regular daily usage is recommended. Optimally, the Litebook Elite should be used first thing in the morning, as early as possible upon awakening. For some people, especially seniors, who fall asleep earlier than they’d like and wake up either too often or too early, we recommend using your Litebook Elite in the early evening to tell your body that you’re not ready to go to sleep. This will help you sleep through the night and awaken at your preferred time. The Litebook Elite should be positioned approximately 12-24 inches (30-60 cm) from your face, and should be offset slightly from center to reduce glare with the light beam must be directed at your eyes, and your eyes must be open to achieve benefit.
We encourage use of The Litebook Elite while engaged in other activities, such as reading, eating, applying makeup, or working at a computer or desk. However, take care that The Litebook Elite is NOT brought into contact with water or heat-producing appliances, as they may damage The Litebook Elite, and may pose possible fire hazards.

Love my Litebook! Review by LaughingBoy
I suffered from SAD for years before discovering light therapy in the late 90's. Back then, all there was were the big fluorescent light boxes - and while they did help some, I hated how big and clunky they are, and how I couldn't take it with me to the office if I didn't get my full 30 mins. with it in the mornings, or if I went away for the weekends. Not to mention they just look like there's something wrong with you having that big honkin' box hoggin' your desk!
Now with my little Litebook, not only do I get my shot of light every day, no matter where I am, I also get a lot of people asking, "Hey, cool! What is that?!" I also find I only need about 15 mins/day instead of the 30 with the old box. For the past year I have been using it every day all year round, and have more energy and better sleep.
Bottom line: a well-made product that delivers the goods. (Posted on 8/8/09)
Small unit, but maybe a big one is better? Review by alirama
I bought this small light as I thought it would be easy to move from my desk to my bed, but I think maybe I should have got the bigger one. I like this one because it have a battery so dont need power always. This one is very bright if you look direct into the light, and sometimes when you are moving your eyes around you get a big glare. I put it further away and more on the side of my desk, and now its better i think. im getting kind of SAD (LOL) in the winter times, and so i hope this is a good solution for me. (Posted on 9/22/08)
