Verilux Original Full Spectrum Floor Lamp

I like everything about this lamp and would buy it if it didn't have that shelf as I don't see any purpose for the shelf and it detracts from the otherwise pleasant lines of the lamp. I am looking for a floor lamp similar to this in every other way ... remove the shelf and you have a customer!
